Better Recycling

Introduction

Shayna Ecounified India Pvt Ltd has been incorporated with the intent to reduce dumping of plastic waste such as Poly Propylene & Poly Ethylene in the environment and converting this waste into a High Density Composite Polymer (HDCP™) Tile. This has been made possible through a golden handshake with the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR)-National Physical Laboratory (NPL) who has developed and patented this technology. We are the 1st company to whom CSIR-NPL has licensed the technology on July 03rd 2017 for production, assembling and marketing of these HDCP™ tiles for several advanced applications and uses in various government and non-government projects.

Identification & Segregation of waste Plastic

The rapid urbanization and development has led to the increase in consumption of plastic products Vis a Vis plastic waste generation & littering of plastic waste is a major environmental issue. It is a fact that plastic waste constitutes a significant portion of total municipal solid waste (MSW) generated in India. Plastics are non-biodegradable. However end of life plastics can be recycled into second life applications. Manual Sorting, the first step in recycling plastic waste is carried out with the help of rag pickers and supplied by NGO as well as scrap suppliers/dealer. The segregated polymer waste of Poly Propylene and Poly Ethylene in the form of milk pouches, non-food bottles, containers, lawn chairs, toys, trays, buckets etc. is checked by the supervisors under the control of Quality Manager as it is the most essential ingredient of manufacturing process.

Rejected articles is identified or segregated and disposed/returned to NGO and scrap suppliers/dealers.

Production & Dispatch Provision

Shayna Ecounified India Pvt Ltd’s plans and carries out HDCP tiles production under controlled conditions which includes the use of suitable infrastructure including machinery, polymer granules, fillers and process environment so that right ingredients in the right proportions are mixed to form a quality product under all circumstances. Manufacturing operating procedures, work orders and Inspection control procedures define our company’s plan for manufacturing. The Production Manager maintains a record for each batch of HDCP tiles, providing traceability and identifying the quantity manufactured and released for distribution. The documented information is verified and approved by Directors on regular basis.

Batch/Lot Identification is done by numbering system to assign unique identification number to clearly identify HDCP tiles of various colors, shapes and sizes after the manufacturing process is over thereby helping in storage in the warehouse and distribution to the customer. Quality records traceable to batch/lot are stored by the Quality Manager. Quality records traceable to a Customer are stored by the Customer's Order Number.

The Quality Manager validates any processes for production provision where the resulting output cannot be verified by subsequent monitoring or measurement. This includes any processes where deficiencies become apparent only after product has been delivered. Validation demonstrates the ability of these processes to achieve planned results by using specific methods and procedures.

Testing & Preliminary Inspection

Shayna Ecounified India Pvt Ltd’s HDCP tiles have several quality control tests that are used to meet product specifications and standardizations. HDCP tile inspection test established by the ASTM (American Society of Testing and Materials) include tensile strength, flammability, thermal stability, compression strength, water absorption analysis, uv accelerated weathering, fire retardant, antistatic, zero halogen with no emission, glass transition temperature, permeability, environmental stability, resistance against strong acids & bases tests.

Maximum tiles from each batch/lot shall be inspected in accordance with the requirement and testing parameters laid down by CSIR-NPL under the supervision of the Quality Manager. All tiles are inspected for count, identification and damage.

Rejected and damaged tiles from each batch/lot are documented and separated to be used for recycling and further processing purpose. The Quality Manager will approve the final disposition.
